DWI lawyer websites. These can be a powerful message to students about
what a drag it would be to get busted for DWI…a message they will hear
loud and clear because it comes from somebody who is on the side of the person who gets busted.
Actually guilty?
Please do not let your remorse tempt you to join the hate-mongering MADD bigots. They don’t care about the carnage on the roads. They are the false opposition to
traffic crashes. On behalf of their sponsors in the auto industry (who sell more cars if a drunk totals two cars) they want to keep everybody addicted to driving. The more people drink, the tougher the DWI crackdown, the more people will break their addictions to driving. MADD’s sponsors do not want more people under suspension riding the bus, because bus companies could extend their hours and routes, and more people could find jobs without buying cars. They don’t want tipsy pedestrians walking home, and then protesting roads without sidewalks, snow plowed onto sidewalks, traffic signals without crosswalk lights, and zoning restrictions that impose great distances between homes and places where folks can work, shop, or gather to drink. Don’t report underage drinking parties
Maybe the first thing YOU always do when YOU get hammered is climb into a car and try to drive it somewhere, but that does not mean they are as reckless and as irresponsible as you are. Don’t try to pass some of the punishment onto them. Report drunk drivers. UDADD.
Always remember
Drinking and driving may not be illegal, but you will be arrested for it and charged, and you will have to hire a lawyer to get out of it. So, your best bet is not to drink and drive. However, if you get jury duty, and the defendant is charged with DWI, remember that it is not illegal to drink and drive, that the prosecution must prove the driver had too much.
